Pakistan arrests 471 parents for refusing vaccination

In the United States, measles has made a come back, no thanks to ‘anti-vaxxers’ (people who don’t believe in vaccination, or thinks it causes autism based on the bogus study conducted by Dr. Wakefield). Meanwhile, Pakistan is taking anti-vaxxers seriously, by arresting parents who refused to vaccinate their children.

That’s right, if you refuse to vaccinate your children in any of these countries, you are committing a crime.

In Peshawar, Pakistan, 471 people have already been arrested and charged with “endangering public security” for refusing to vaccinate their children against polio. A reasonable charge, considering herd immunity has protected many of those not eligible for vaccines – infants, pregnant women, or immunocompromised people, – as in the case of the Disneyland measles outbreak, where one single unvaccinated person is responsible for exposing at least 45 cases to the infection.
