The companies and their technologies:

Life Box

LifeBox Health transforms the surgical pathways within hospitals using digital technology. Successfully used in 10 UK hospitals, with 50000 patients, registered it continues to improve surgical services for hospitals. The digital tool has 3 key elements- a Secure Virtual Clinic (SVC), the LifeBox ePOA assessment app and an outcomes portal.

The SVC allows hospital staff to have video or audio consultations with patients. Importantly however patients can send staff key information- written, picture or video before, during or after the consultation. Likewise, hospitals can deliver information in the same way. The ePOA assessment app allows remote health assessment of patients prior to procedures together with video education. This reduces costs for hospitals, improves the quality of assessment and has high patient satisfaction.

The outcomes assessment module allows the collection of procedure satisfaction scores for the hospital. Together the 3 elements produce a complete end to end journey for the patient and hospital.

C2-Ai provides globally unique Ai-backed systems that help hospitals to demonstrably reduce avoidable harm, mortality, and clinical variation.  We do this while generating significant savings on operating expenditure (potentially USD millions per hospital) and reducing complaints/clinical negligence claims by up to 10%.

We have the world’s only, accurate, risk-adjusted picture of hospital performance in managing COVID patients as well as helping key avoidable conditions acquired in hospital that block beds needed during the pandemix. Per hospital, this has been shown to provide savings of 500 lives per annum, $9m and frees up 1,000 bed-days per month. Across the US this would be 350,000 lives and $12.5bn of in-year savings.

We can also triage the non-urgent surgical waiting list, providing the objective priority scoring demanded by the CDC with our COMPASS system that assesses the individualised risk of mortality and complications based on operative type and patient physiology.

This means our combined technology and service provision can improve the outcomes of patients with chronic conditions e.g. Diabetes, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Heart failure, etc. and provides value on specific interventions for managing their conditions safely at home.

Our partnership approach has enabled our digital technology to be part of clinical pathways that facilitate earlier discharge, prevent readmissions, reduce risk of future exacerbations, and improve self-management, whilst maximising clinical capacity.
